General Description:

     Fun, fun, fun! This is a true beginner class but covers most of the IEW units, including reports,
stories, mini-research reports, writing from pictures, and creative writing. Students will usually
complete one to three paragraphs per week.

     Themes focus on subjects intriguing to young children, such as fun facts from science, animals,
men who changed the world, stories from around the world, and more.

    This class will also include and emphasize important, practical grammar rules. They will read
The Wanderer, Holes, and The Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles with the intent of
annotating the author's elements of style and then completing a short writing assignment from a
prompt. Vocabulary words will also be included.

     This is a 32-week course earns one middle school English credit.
