Are you interested in starting a business or pursuing a business degree in college? How does a person go from an idea, to a product or service, to a profitable company? Owning your own business is part of the American Dream. You might be wondering how a person could start his or her own company. What steps should be taken? How much money do you need to have saved up prior to starting a business? Why are some good ideas successful while other good ideas are disasters?


This high school business class will provide students with an understanding of the basics of business from formation to labor laws. Studying information that will be helpful to understand how businesses operate and understand the expectations of a university-level business class.

Finally, here's the fun part: Once we cover the previously mentioned topics, we will get a little creative. We will decide on a product or service to sell. What will the ads look like? What will the advertisements say? In what other ways will we promote this product or service? We might even make some money. Students will gather awesome stories to share during job interviews or write about on college admission essays. Further, this class will be a strong addition to a student's transcript and give insight to the student about future education and career goals.
